Customs clearance is a necessary procedure in permitting goods to enter or leave a country. Several parties, such as importers/ exporters, forwarders, warehouses and customs brokers, involve in the process of shipments. In international trading, the sellers/ senders handle the export customs clearance process, while the buyers/ receivers take the responsibility of the import customs clearance process.
Time is money and no importers can afford delivery delays. To help them inquire the real-time status, Taipei Customs shares some online shipment tracking as below.
• General Cargo (Formal Declaration)
Search GB301(System Code) on CPT Single Window website with formal declaration numbers.
• Express Limited Delivery (Simple Declaration)
◦ Search GB321(System Code) on CPT Single Window website with house airway bill numbers or tracking numbers which may be the declaration numbers.
◦ Click REAL NAME on EZ Way App, choose the declared case and then click on the bottom of Inquire Customs Clearance Procedures. (Foreigners with ARC are able to utilize EZ Way App in the near future.)
• Parcel Post
Search Track& Trace Service on the website of Chunghwa iPost with tracking numbers.
Import goods are declared by entrusted customs brokers, and they will pick up the cleared goods which will later be collected by logistics firms. Importers can also directly inquire the customs brokers about the clearance status. It’s notable that the importers will receive official notices when their goods are detained or seized by Customs.
