Online Application and Status Inquiry of Commodity Tax Refund for the Purchase New Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, and Dehumidifiers – It’s Fast and Convenient!

The National Taxation Bureau of the Northern Area （NTBNA）, Ministry of Finance stated that applying online for commodity tax refunds is convenient and fast. You can also check the application status by visiting the Ministry of Finance's tax portal. The application steps are as follows:
1. Search for "Ministry of Finance's tax portal" or enter the URL https://www.etax.nat.gov.tw.
2. Go to the homepage and follow the instructions on the page “Commodity tax refund for purchase of energy-saving appliances.” Then click on "Consumer Online Application."
3. On the "Consumer Online Application" page, enter the following information:
（1）Buyer's information.
（2）Certificate information.
（3）Information about the electrical appliance product.
（4）File upload: Photos of the unified invoice or receipt, cover of the bank passbook for tax refund, warranty card or certificate for the appliance.
4. Fill in the fields, and click "Apply for tax refund." Confirm your application by checking your email inbox for the receipt number; this indicates a successful application.

The Bureau would like to remind the public that the reduction of commodity tax amount is claimed by the buyer. To ensure a safer and faster receipt of the tax refund, it is recommended that individuals opt for direct deposit transfer. The refund will be directly credited to the designated financial institution account, saving time that would otherwise be spent visiting financial institutions for cashing checks. This method also mitigates risks such as lost or stolen checks.
