The refunds for 2020 aliens’ individual income tax will be transferred into appointed accounts after August 2, 2021.

Minxiong Office, National Taxation Bureau of the Southern Area, Ministry of Finance expresses that the direct deposit refund dates for the 2020 aliens’ individual income tax will be on Aug. 2, Sep. 11, and Nov. 11, 2021 respectively. Taxpayers who choose to receive tax refunds via direct deposit can check their appointed accounts after the dates listed above, while those who did not appoint an account to receive tax refunds will receive their refund checks in order of tax-filing dates.

Minxiong Office encourages taxpayers to receive tax refunds via direct deposit, which is more convenient and faster. Taxpayers can also appoint the accounts belonging to the taxpayer, or to the taxpayer’s spouse or to a dependent in the case of joint filing.
