The National Taxation Bureau of Kaohsiung, Ministry of Finance stated that the tax filing season is May this year, and with the easing of the domestic epidemic situation, the 2022 income tax return filing period will be restored to one month from May 1 to May 31, 2023. The service period and overtime service hours of various services provided by the counters of the National Taxation Bureau are as follows:

The Bureau explained that since April 28, 2023, the income and deductions data can be inquired, and anyone who holds an Alien Citizen Digital Certificate, "NHI card and Password", "Electronic Certificate" or "Inquiry code + ARC No. + Passport No. /Residence No./Permit No.) + Date of Birth" as the access code can download the income and deductions data and upload the tax return via the system of e-Filing and Payment of Individual Income Tax for Aliens (https://tax. nat.gov.tw), instead of going to the National Taxation Bureau to inquire in person.
In addition, the "Inquiry code" of income and deductions data can be obtained through the following three methods:

Finally, the Bureau urges alien taxpayers to use e-Filing during the filing period. If there is a tax refund, the taxpayer can designate an account at a financial institution (including post office) of the alien taxpayer, his or her spouse or one of the declared dependents to apply for a "direct deposit of refund" to save time and reduce the inconvenience of collecting tax refund checks.
