Tax Refund Schedule for 2020 Individual Income Tax
National Taxation Bureau of Kaohsiung(NTBK), Ministry of Finance expressed that the filing period of 2020 alien individual income tax return starts from May 1st to May 31st, 2021，taxpayers could use e-filing and select the way of transferring account refund. The Bureau reminded that due to the new UI No. launched by National Immigration Agency since Jan. 2nd, 2021, if taxpayers already changed to the new UI No., don’t forget to renew the financial account information.
The Bureau further explained that the refund schedule for 2020 alien individual income tax is as follow：
1. Refund dates for transferring
(1) Aug. 2nd , 2021：for taxpayers who filed from May 1st to May15th,2021 by e-filing.
(2) Sep. 11, 2021：for taxpayers who filed from May 16th to May 31st,2021 by e-filing and filed by paper or media.
2. Refund dates for checks
(1) At the end of Aug., 2021：for taxpayers who filed from May 1st to May 15th, 2021 by e-filing.
(2) At the end of Sep., 2021：for taxpayers who filed from May 16th to May 31st, 2021 by e-filing.
(3)At the end of Oct., 2021：for taxpayers who filed from May 1st to May 15th, 2021 by paper or media.
(4)At the end of Nov., 2021：for taxpayers who filed from May 16th to May 31st, 2021 by paper or media.
The Bureau also recommended that foreign taxpayers could choose the way of transferring account and could look up refunds online from the official website (https://www.ntbk.gov.tw) by the following steps: Homepage/English/Themes/Aliens/Check Refund Online, or scan the QR-code by your mobile devices.
