The first batch of Redemption Slips for 2022 Individual Income Tax Refund has been sent out. Please redeem the redemption slip as early as possible.

National Taxation Bureau of Taipei, Ministry of Finance expressed that, concerning the first batch of 2022 individual income tax refund applications, those whose tax refund is not directly credited to taxpayer’s account due to their failure of providing or incorrectly filling in the deposit account information will be issued a redemption slip. The said redemption slips have been successively sent to taxpayers by registered mail on July 29, 2022.
The Bureau said that the validity of the first batch of redemption slips is September 30, 2022 and, up to now, 5,137 slips with a total amount of 40,047,665 have not been redeemed. Taxpayers shall submit a redemption request through their deposit account at a financial institution or post office as soon as possible. Nevertheless, if the amount of refund is less than NTD5,000, taxpayers can bring the redemption slip, personal ID card, and seal to Bank of Taiwan’s offices in Taipei City to redeem for cash.
The Bureau would like to remind taxpayers to protect their own interests. Those who to fail to file a redemption request before September 30, 2022 can, by presenting their redemption slip, personal ID card, and personal seal, apply to extend the redemption period at a National Taxation Bureau branch or office where their domicile is registered.
The Bureau further emphasized that, when filing an individual income tax return, taxpayers can provide their deposit account information to the taxation authority for a direct tax refund to the said account. This will not only save them from worrying about missing or damaging the redemption slip, forgetting to redeem the slip, or the registered mail being falsely or fraudulently received by another party, but also help them to save the time of traveling to and from their financial institution, which is a time-saving, safe, and convenient option.
