‘’The Taxpayer Rights Protection Act’’ ensures taxpayers’ taxation human rights

Nantou Branch, National Taxation Bureau of the Central Area, Ministry of Finance（NTBCA,MOF）indicated that The Taxpayer Rights Protection Act (hereinafter“this Act) not only obligates taxpayers to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with law, but also enables them to enjoy the fundamental taxation human rights they deserve.

The Branch states that in the event of the taxpayers' rights protection, the special provision of this Act shall be followed preferentially. All taxpayers can request assistance from a local taxpayer rights protection ombudsman when they have some tax controversy with their taxation authority, repute(refute?) personal rights, or seek remedy in accordance with laws. The application can be filed in writing or orally, or submitted online or by fax or phone.
